The Mary-Sue Litmus Test: A tool for creating better, more realistic, more well-rounded characters. Run your characters through the test to find out how they rate and what to change if they need modification. Behind the Name: A well-researched and generally reliable name database; very useful for naming characters, be they modern, fantasy, historical, or sci-fi. Check out its companion site, Behind the Surname, for all your naming needs. Posemaniacs: The ultimate pose reference site for artists. Also includes a hand pose tool, various sketching aids, and a daily pose widget. The d20SRD: An online resource for almost all the basic information from Dungeons and Dragons v.3.5, including classes, races, magical items, monsters, and more, as well as some additional information from various supplements. Bloo's HTML and CSS Help: A comprehensive database of everything you have ever needed to know about HTML and CSS, plus some fun little goodies for bored nerds. Minotaur's Sex Tips for Slash Writers: Just what it says. Written by a gay man, for slash writers of any sex, gender, or orientation. Warning: this site contains adult material. ![]()
Genderfork: Probably my favourite blog on the internet. It's a community project exploring gender diversity, androgyny, and the beauty in ambiguity, including quotes, profiles, photos, videos, and recommendations. Project Gutenberg: Free downloads of out-of-copyright books. They have a variety of formats, including text, HTML, and audio, with the majority of the books being in English, but with many other languages as well. If it was published in the 1800s or before, you might be able to find it. ArtPad: A simple, stress-relieving online painting program. Loads of fun, and surprisingly easy to create beautiful works with. Online Alignment Test: A comprehensive test to figure out where you (or your character) falls on the DnD alignment grid. Not based on arbitrary decisions or situations you can't apply to real life--this is the real deal. ![]()
A few of the webcomics I enjoy most and read on a regular basis. Warning: you might become addicted.
